How to deposit money into TymeBank

Depositing money into TymeBank may seem confusing because there are no TymeBank branches. This is a guide on how to deposit money into TymeBank.

Deposit on Pick n Pay or Boxer

Pick n Pay and Boxer have partnered with TymeBank in order to make it easy for people to deposit and withdraw their money from these two stores. Here is what you should do.

  • Go to any Pick n Pay or Boxer store.
  • Go straight to the till.
  • Ask the cashier to deposit the money for you.
  • Give them your TymeBank card and money.
  • Enter your PIN.

They should give you a receipt that confirms your transaction. The first deposit you make is free but then it costs R6 for every R1000 (or part thereof) you deposit thereafter. Your money should reflect in your account within a few minutes.

Always go to the shortest que, you can use any cashier in the store, I recommend using the ones who are at the kiosk. The line is usually shorter there.

Deposit using an EFT

You can also just make a direct transfer from any account into your TymeBank account. Especially if you stay far from any Pick n Pay or Boxer. Simply transfer it from your current bank account whether it be Capitec, FNB or any other bank account.

If you don’t have one then you can just find someone who has an account and you can give them your cash and have them make the transfer for you. EFTs usually take 2 days (48 hours) to reflect on your TymeBank account.
