How to buy shares in Sasol

Sasol is one of the biggest companies in the country and has performed very well historically in the market. This is a guide on how to buy shares in Sasol.

Register with a broker

You need a broker to be able to buy shares in the South African stock markets. There are a lot of brokers you can use; I personally recommend using EasyEquities, it’s the best broker in my opinion, it doesn’t come with a lot of charges and there are no minimums, you can get started with as little as R100.

To open an EasyEquities account; all you need is an ID and access to the internet. If you are on Capitec then simply scroll to the widget section. This guide assumes that you will use EasyEquities as your broker.

From your EasyEquities home page do the following:

  • Tap on invest.
  • Locate the search bar.
  • Type “Sasol”.
  • Click on Sasol.
  • Click on “Buy now”.
  • Enter the amount of money you want to spend.

That’s how easy buying shares at Sasol is with EasyEquities, at the time of writing this article; each share in Sasol is worth R234, you have to have at least that much in order to buy 1 share at the company. You will also pay some money in charges; this is usually very little.
