Does Capitec accept immediate interbank payment?

It’s sometimes frustrating to have to wait for days for money to reflect in an account when sent from another bank. The same usually happens with Capitec when you are doing a transaction using the default method. But is there a way to go around this? Does Capitec accept immediate interbank payment?

Yes, Capitec does accept immediate interbank payments but you will have to pay a fee of R7.50 per payment.

R7.50 in charges is quite a lot of money just to move your money from one bank to another, it becomes impractical and expensive when you have to make multiple immediate interbank payments.

How does it work?

It usually takes between 2 and 3 days for money sent from Capitec to another bank to reflect. With an immediate payment; the money reflects instantly.

Enter your remote banking PIN and either click on “Pay Beneficiary” if you are using the new app or tap on “transact”. Proceed to do everything you need to do to make a normal payment, you will notice that there is an “immediate payment” button that is likely blue. Click on that button and the payment will be processed immediately, the charge for this will be R7.50
